Could someone please explain to me in simple terms how to transfer pics from the cell phone to my laptop? I can't find any explanation in the manual, or it's there and I don't understand it.
Do you have pix messaging? If so, you can send them to your email by just typing it in "TO:" line, just like you would a phone number to send the message to.
Another way, if you have a usb (vcast cable) or bluetooth on your laptop, download BitPim at http://www.bitpim.org/. Connect your phone. Go to "media" on the left, then to "images" then right-click on the image and click "save"
The fastest way is to use something like a 2GB MicroSD card. Transfer the images to the card, and then use a card reader to transfer them to the laptop. In the future, set the option in the VX-8300 to always save to the card so it goes even faster the next time you wish to transfer images.
Hello, I also would like to know how to get the 100+ pictures I have off my phone and onto my computer (MacBook). I had a MicroSD card that was in a blackberry-- I tried to format on the phone, but the formatting failed. I'm not sure if I have bluetooth (is that a cable?). I do have a usb data cable. I've been looking around, and just downloaded bitpim, but I still cannot figure out how to get pictures (and video) off my camera. I started the process of getting my phone book and wallpaper (Get Data from Phone), but it gets stuck on wallpaper-- and besides, that isn't what I really want- I want to get my photos, without paying for pix messaging. I do see what camhahn says-- the media part-- but it doesn't have anything there. Thanks for your help!
PS, I did just get my phone book imported, but I still see nothing under "media". Hmm!
I don't want to buy another MicroSD card, but if you have tips on how to use the card I have, please let me know. I have put it in and tried to run the formatting ("Format card in Phone, by going to Settings & Tools menu, option 8, Memory, Option 3, Card Memory, select options, with the right soft key, select 1, Format card, when that is done transfer the card to your card reader on your pc. ") But when I get to "format Card" it tries for a bit, and then says "FAIL".
Unless the Blackberry is using a proprietary format or the card is locked, the card should already be formatted with FAT32 for compatible reasons, so formatting may not be necessary. Alternatively, you should be able to format the card on the computer with FAT32. What is also critical is that the card have the necessary and correctly spelled folders. These folders are:
my_flix my_music my_pix my_sounds
Their purpose should be obvious, but what might not be is that they need to be there for the phone to use them accordingly. Use the Move function in the phone to move the files to the card. There's isn't a batch feature, so you will have to do this one at a time. However, once you set the phone to always save future media to the card, you can eliminate this step and the process goes much, much quicker.
